What better film to show the glamour of the casino, than Casino itself? Starring Robert De Niro and directed by Martin Scorsese the film managed to show the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas, while also exposing the dark underbelly. It is hard to watch this movie and not want to take a trip to Las Vegas, even with its dark past.

Casino was another one of Martin Scorsese’s epic mafia movies. It featured Robert De Niro as Sam Rothstein, Joe Pesci as Nicky Santoro and Sharon Stone as Ginger McKenna. Rothstein was given control of the Tangiers hotel in Las Vegas by the mob in the 1970s. SAM 'ACE' ROTHSTEIN, a tall, lean, immaculatelydressed man

approaches his car, opens the door, and gets inside to turn

on the ignition.

ACE (V.O.)

what's the point? And, for a while...

I believed that's the kind of love I

had.

Suddenly, the car explodes. Flames, smoke and metal rise

into the sky covering the view of the Las Vegascasinos and

their signs.
